The science behind good garden maintenance is often over-looked. It leads to plant failure, bad pruning practise and gradual degradation of the garden scheme. My horticultural base provides management plans across the seasons. Collaborated with your garden team, together we achieve the best outcome in maintaining the garden to optimum health and vigour using sustainable methods
PLANT it.
Plants and schemes can outgrow their space or become lacklustre without correct management. My schemes can be a re-fresh of a scheme or perhaps considered as part of a newly designed area of the garden. My knowledge of site and suitable planting involve detailed horticultural and plant knowledge. The completed plan is delivered to your desktop complete with plant schedule.

Design is about collecting the facts that will influence decisions, Architecture, environment, ecological and practical considerations are clearly important, but I first consider how clients envisage their space. Is entertainment their predominant use, or perhaps a more mindful and relaxed scheme meets the brief.

Garden Management
Managing clients gardens varies considerably from maintaining them. The value of gardeners cannot be underestimated, but often there is a lack of horticultural know-how or plant knowledge. I can work alongside your gardener to input knowledge of soils, pruning methods, composting and sustainable disease control. This is delivered in a simple bespoke system to help your gardener know what and when to carry out essential maintenance.

TIME LINE
“Naturally, being very fond of gardens and being involved from the start of their evolution, the time invested right at the start is key to a successful project. My degree in design, way back in 1999 taught me the techniques that balance harmony, symmetry (or assymetry) unity and sense of place. However, it is my going study of horticulture that has satisfied my growing need to design sustainably and ecologically”
